Job summary

The University of Texas Health Science Center invites applications for a Part-Time Adjunct Faculty to assist with teaching Advanced Research Concepts in the MLS program and the Microbiology Laboratory in BSMS.

Responsibilities include developing course content, delivering lectures and lab instruction, and coordinating with the Program Director to align objectives with departmental goals. This is a 12‑month, on-site adjunct position beginning August 2026.

Qualifications

• Certification as an MLS: Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP).
• Master’s degree in an MLS-appropriate discipline.
• At least five years of professional experience in Medical Lab Sciences.
• Part-time adjunct appointment of 12 months starting August 2026.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with departmental leadership to design and develop course content for the Advanced Research Concepts course.
• Create and deliver classroom and online instructional materials including lectures, resources, assignments, case studies, and assessments.
• Develop core curriculum outlines and coordinate with the Program Director to define instructional components.
• Establish course and program learning objectives aligning with UT Health San Antonio goals.
• Contribute to examination materials and other assessment tools.
• Prepare and deliver microbiology laboratory instruction with hands-on exercises.
• Deliver high-quality instruction and provide timely feedback to students.
