Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools seeks a Head Coach for Middle School Cheer at Falling Creek Middle School to provide leadership, supervision, and coaching instruction for varsity and junior varsity teams on-site.

The role requires strong communication, adherence to athletic regulations, and the ability to manage team operations, budgets, and fundraising while fostering student growth and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test).
• Must be fingerprinted and have documented results of clear criminal record.
• Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
• Education and experience should demonstrate the ability to perform essential job functions.
• Applicants must successfully complete background investigations/tests: FBI, State Police, CPS, Tuberculosis screening/test.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in all phases of the game, sport, or activity.
• Work with student athletes to improve personal and teamwork skills.
• Provide guidance and encouragement to help students profit from participation.
• Maintain compliance with VHSL rules and district policies.
• Promote a favorable image of the school district; encourage community partnerships.
• Coordinate with athletic director to evaluate program needs.
• Handle equipment purchases and fee collections; participate in fundraisers.
• Maintain VHSL forms, insurance records, and team statistics.
