Willamalane Park and Recreation District in Springfield, Oregon, is seeking a part-time middle school basketball coach to lead skill workouts, practices, and games for youth in an organized setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, four years in community education or parks and recreation, and certifications in First Aid, AED, and CPR. Bilingual applicants are encouraged; a Spanish/ASL proficiency test may apply.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Four years of experience in community education, parks and recreation, or related area.
• Bilingual in Spanish or ASL encouraged; proficiency test may apply.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and schedule practices and games for participants.
• Secure safe practice areas and supervise participants.
• Report injuries to Recreation Supervisor and provide first aid as needed.
• Carry emergency forms and participant information to practices and events.
• Ensure daily locker room checks and cleanliness.
• Oversee sign-out process with parents/guardians.
• Attend coaches meetings and trainings.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
