Qualifications

Part Time Mid-Senior Maintenance Electrician

Salary Range: $44.37 to $49.70 Per Hour

  • This position is Service Contract Act which is subject to Health & Welfare benefits

The Maintenance Electrician shall provide timely and direct feedback related to schedule, required materials, coordination of other trades, and daily issues as they occur. Responsible for overall quality and craftsmanship of assignments in accordance with specifications, Project Manager directives, client expectations, and respective trade/craft requirements. Responsibilities also include coordinating with other project teammates and subcontractors. This is an onsite position based at EPA NVFEL Ann Arbor with a start date of August 2025.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair all power and electrical distribution systems, power monitoring systems, substations, distribution panels, interior and exterior lighting systems, wiring systems, emergency generators, and their integrated fuel tanks, motor control centers, uninterruptible power systems, and Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations
  • Confirming that equipment is electrically safe and secure, and provide documentation that lockout is complete
  • Maintaining electrical equipment using established troubleshooting techniques or methodologies. Possess knowledge of various electrical test equipment, both low and medium voltage equipment preferred
  • Identifying and examining production equipment failures to understand root cause analysis, with the help of interpreting schematics and drawings
  • Perform general electrical maintenance including wiring repairs, lighting and circuit breaker maintenance. Replaces electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors
  • Assist team to perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings
  • Inspect buildings and equipment for needed maintenance or repairs
  • Support red-line or as-builts on project site
  • Identify all change conditions/RFI’s during course of work in conjunction with the Project Manager
  • Support Government inspections and sign-offs and complete repairs in a timely manner
  • Lawn and Landscape Maintenance as needed (part of a crew as an additional helping hand)
  • Snow Removal as needed (part of a crew as an additional helping hand)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management (Large Research Facility ) (construction and conduit installation) Electrical construction voltage 480 3 phase power in compliance with NEC codes

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities however will be required to oversee subcontractor electrical work, where applicable


QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma, construction apprentice certifications, and 5 or more years related field construction experience in direct trade, coupled with additional craftsman certifications and/or training certifications

  • Cross training and certifications in other construction specialties a plus
  • Required to earn OSHA 10 and CPR training
  • Ability to read and understand engineering design drawings, specifications, and applicable technical instructions, plans, and reports.
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and other applicable programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities
  • Frequently required to stand/walk
  • Must be comfortable with ladder work and working at heights (ie scissor lift)
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
  • Continually required to talk or hear
  • Occasionally required to taste or smell
  • Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally work in high, precarious places
  • Occasionally around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
  • Occasionally exposure to outside weather conditions
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
