The University of Washington's Department of Microbiology invites applicants for a part-time Research Scientist/Engineer 2 to support Sokurenko Laboratory research into bacterial adhesion and host-pathogen interactions. The role requires 32 hours per week at 80% FTE, reporting to the Professor.

You will perform molecular biology, cloning, protein expression, and immunological techniques, maintain records, and contribute to publications and grant reports.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with two years of biomedical lab experience.
• Equivalent education/experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct laboratory experiments using established methods and protocols.
• Perform bacterial adhesion assays and molecular cloning.
• Express and purify proteins and characterize adhesin molecules.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and contribute to reports/publications.
• Provide guidance and training to undergraduate students and trainees.
• Plan, track, and support research activities and workflows.
