Qualifications

• Degree or certs in medical laboratory science with required certification.
• Certification as MT/MLS (ASCP) or MT/MLS (AMT) or equivalent.
• Alternative: associate degree with required lab science credits and MLT certs.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate testing and recognizes abnormal results.
• Reports timely results in writing or verbally and maintains records.
• Performs instrument checks, quality control, and routine maintenance.
• Notifies appropriate personnel of critical results.
• Trains and mentors staff or students using established forms.
