Daymark Recovery Services in Erwin, NC is seeking a Medical Scribe to support healthcare providers by documenting patient encounters in real-time during examinations, enabling clinicians to focus on patient care.
The role emphasizes accurate EHR documentation, confidentiality (HIPAA), and efficient workflow, with opportunities to learn medical terminology and interact with diverse medical teams. A BA/BS degree is required, and prior scribe experience is a plus.
A Medical Scribe is responsible for assisting healthcare providers by documenting patient encounters in real-time during medical examinations, ensuring accurate and thorough documentation in the patient’s medical record. The primary goal is to increase the efficiency of healthcare professionals by allowing them to focus on patient care while the scribe handles documentation and other administrative tasks.
Ability to read and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, treatment notes, and related documents; ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public. Mathematical proficiency in basic statistics and interpretation of data visualizations.
Certification in Medical Scribing is preferred but not required.
Regularly required to talk or hear; stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Generally pleasant office conditions. May occasionally travel to locations outside the county for training or meetings, exposing the employee to various weather conditions.
Duties involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, but the employee may be required to perform unplanned Category I procedures. All Category I employees are offered the Engerix Hepatitis B vaccination series.
