Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Scientist in Lab Chemistry at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. The role performs tests and communicates results to physicians, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

This position supports pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic workflows, adheres to SOPs, and participates in quality control and compliance programs. The role requires a relevant degree and ASCP certification eligibility in some cases.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• ASCP MLS/MT Certification or eligible preferred.
• ASCP Categorical BB, C, H or M Certification or eligible preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Performs pre-analytic workflow for the laboratory section to ensure correct orders and sample processing.
• Verifies orders and non-patient information per protocol.
• Collects, receives, labels, and processes specimens accurately.
• Performs analytical testing following SOPs and ensures test system integrity.
• Maintains QC, protocols, and instrument maintenance; troubleshoots issues as needed.
• Performs post-analytic duties including releasing results and generating reports.
• Assists with billing and proper documentation of testing performed.

Educación

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, or Allied Health

ASCP MLS/MT Certification or eligible

ASCP Categorical BB, C, H or M Certification or eligible
