Job summary

Wickenburg Community Hospital is seeking a part-time Medical Lab Scientist/Medical Lab Technician to collect, process, and analyze specimens. The MLS/MLT will report results and maintain quality control records within a rural-access hospital setting in Wickenburg, AZ.

The role requires MLS/MLS/CLS certification with a BS (BS required for Lead) or an MLT/CLT with associate degree for technicians. Benefits are offered, and PSLF eligibility is noted for the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry with MT/MLS/CLS certification by ASCP, HEW or AMT; Lead position requires BS.
• Technologist/Scientist: MT/MLS/CLS certification with relevant degree.
• Technician: MLT/CLT certification with associate degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Specimen collection and processing, test performance, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Maintain records demonstrating PT are performed like patient samples.
• Adhere to QC policies, document calibrations and maintenance.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and notify supervisors.
• Document corrective actions when test systems deviate from performance specs.
