St. Luke’s Health System is seeking a part-time Medical Lab Scientist to join the Lab team at St. Luke’s Fruitland Hospital. The role involves performing routine tests for diagnosis and treatment, with opportunities to assist higher-level tasks and support fellow team members.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in scientific related field.
• Experience: 0 years of experience.
• Certification: Must have one of the following: ASCP_C, CYGT, ASCP_MB, ASCP_MLS or AMT_MLS, ASCP_MT or AMT_MT.

Responsibilities

• Performs tests on specimens following laboratory procedures and policies to ensure quality and time guidelines.
• Collects specimens as required with skill and sensitivity to patient needs.
• Ensures specimens are identified, collected, labeled and stored correctly.
• Performs instrument maintenance per section procedures.
• Independently perform Quality Control, Linearity, Calibration, and Delta Checks on equipment.
• May act as a resource for other team members and maintain inventory of supplies.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Follow department policy and document input accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
