Job summary

Centene Corporation seeks a Board-certified physician to assist the CMO in directing and coordinating the physician component of utilization management for our health plan units. The ideal candidate is Indiana-licensed and actively practicing, with utilization management experience, available ~20 hours per week on Thursdays and Fridays.

Qualifications

• Board-certified physician with active Indiana MD or DO license.
• Ideal candidate resides in Indiana and has utilization management experience.
• Active practicing physician; more than one state license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides medical leadership for utilization management and medical review activities.
• Performs case reviews and appeals for all health plans.
• Assists CMO in planning goals and policies to improve quality and cost-effectiveness of care.
• Provides medical expertise in quality improvement and utilization management programs.
• Identifies utilization trends and evaluates adverse patterns in medical services.
