Job summary

Charter College in Yakima, WA is expanding its Medical Assistant Program and seeking an experienced Part-Time Medical Assistant Instructor. This blended teaching role combines in-person classroom and lab instruction with online tools, reporting to the Program Manager. Compensation is paid per course.

The successful candidate will have CCMA, 2+ years MA experience, and the ability to engage adult learners in a flexible instructional environment.

Qualifications

• Current Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA) required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate adult learners.
• Blended/online teaching experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction per curriculum.
• Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Monitor attendance and participation.
• Grade assignments and submit grades per policy.
• Support at-risk students and assist with retention efforts.
• Provide academic support during office hours or by appointment.
• Maintain documentation and communicate progress to Program Manager.
• Participate in faculty meetings and professional development.
• Substitute for other instructors as needed.
