Job summary

UTMB Health in Angleton is seeking a Medical Assistant I for the Angleton Medical Specialties clinic. This part-time role covers 19.99 hours or less per week, non-benefit bearing, on-site patient care and support in a busy outpatient setting.

You will assist with patient flow, obtain vitals, perform basic tests, and maintain a safe, clean environment while documenting care and coordinating with the health team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or graduate of an approved MA program.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient flow in outpatient clinic and respond to call-lights.
• Document chief complaint, vitals, and plan according to policy.
• Perform venipuncture, urine tests, and basic urine chemistry.
• Administer medications per physician guidance and policy C51.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and environment; ensure infection control.
• Communicate patient needs and preserve confidentiality.
• Support quality improvement and teamwork.
