Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
• First academic semester (16 weeks) of San Juan College’s Medical Assistant Certification Program completed is required.
• Applicant must pass drug screen and criminal background check.
• CJ applicant must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or DACA student.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories and patient information accurately.
• Perform basic clinical tasks such as injections, specimen collection, and EKGs as permitted by scope of practice.
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked exam rooms.
• Document patient care in EHR systems and schedule patient appointments.
