Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is hiring a Medical Assistant to support dermatologists in a fast-paced clinic environment. You will room patients, document vitals, and assist with procedures, scribing, and post-op care.

The role requires CMA/LPN/RN or Forefront Derm Tech certification, with travel to other clinic locations as needed. Strong IT skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field.
• Certification CMA/LPN/RN preferred; non-certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration.
• Must keep current state certifications, licenses and registrations to continue employment.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information.
• Scribing information for the dermatologist.
• Providing post op wound care to patients.
• Drawing blood and suture removal.
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:
• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Exisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• KOH preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse (Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant, DERM Tech a plus
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
