Job summary

Mathison Retirement Community in Florida is seeking a Part-Time Med Tech to administer non-injected prescription medications as prescribed by a physician for Assisted Living residents. The role requires a valid Nursing Assistant certificate, completion of a 4-hour AHCA training, and strict adherence to AHCA guidelines, policies, and procedures.

You will assist residents with self-administered medications, document actions in the EMR, and coordinate refills with the LPN on duty.

Qualifications

• Must be a Nursing Assistant in good standing.
• Complete the four (4) hour AHCA training following AHCA guidelines.
• Willingness to follow all policies and procedures.
• Ability to perform position responsibilities adequately.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with non-injected medications as prescribed by a physician.
• Aid those needing help with medications documented on AHCA 1823.
• Handle self-administered meds procedures and labeling checks.
• Read labels, dispense oral dosages, and assist with administration.
• Apply topical medications as prescribed and return containers to storage.
• Record medication assistance in the EMR system.
• Notify the LPN on duty about prescriptions needing refills.
• Provide refills lead time as required (minimum 3 days, 7 days if new).
