Job summary

St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a part-time Patient Care Specialist for the Med Surg 1 Unit. The role assists in patient care activities under the guidance of a Registered Nurse and supports daily operations of the unit.

Qualified candidates may have CNA training or PN licensure in WV, with required EKG/phlebotomy skills or multi-skilled technician training. High school diploma or GED is required. BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Verbal ability to communicate with patients and understand instructions from nursing staff.
• Must have BLS certification.
• Qualified under WV state requirements for CNA or nursing/licensed practical nurse tracks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing patient care activities under supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Support Med Surg 1 Unit patient care tasks per care plan.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort while coordinating with the healthcare team.
