Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island is hiring a Clerical Services Associate for Med Surg, part-time, evenings. The role provides clerical support to facilitate efficient unit operation, including order transcription, computer entry, medical record maintenance, and timely patient, family, and visitor needs.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED, excellent communication skills, and basic data entry ability. Preferred candidates may have 1–2 years of clerical experience.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
• Knowledge of basic data entry computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs clerical tasks in an organized, efficient manner to support unit operations.
• Communicates with patients, families, and health-care team in a timely manner.
• Enters accurate patient information into the electronic medical record per hospital policies.
• Transcribes orders accurately following hospital guidelines.
• Maintains routine office equipment and coordinates repairs as needed.
• Supports a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment and participates in HEICS planning as required.
