A leading engineering and environmental firm is seeking a part-time Mechanical Building Code Inspector in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The inspector will conduct building code inspections and plan reviews on mechanical systems. Part-time Mechanical Building Code Inspector

NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC is seeking a part‑time Mechanical Building Code Inspector in the Fort Lauderdale, FL metropolitan area. The inspector will perform field building code inspections and/or plan reviews on residential and commercial buildings and manage related projects. Occasional travel may be required. The role is primarily field‑based but may include office duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform building code inspections and plan review on mechanical systems.
• Prepare written and electronic reports and issue notices of correction.
• Explain and interpret code regulations or quality control requirements.
• Recognize, evaluate and resolve unique problems or situations.
• Maintain customer service relationships with clients and the public.
• Assist the inspection management team with business development.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

• Florida commercial building inspection license (BN#) in the mechanical discipline.
• Electrical, plumbing, and building inspection licenses are a plus.
• 3+ years’ experience performing plan review and/or inspections.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record.
