This is a part-time position responsible for processing, packaging, and stocking meat products according to Meat Standards, cleaning work areas, providing customer service, unloading stock, and reloading salvage. The role also includes performing duties of a seafood clerk when assigned.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Associates must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information to customers, vendors, and associates who speak only English.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and perform operations using American money and weight measurements.
Ability to understand and carry out detailed or uninvolved instructions. Ability to solve problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
Completion of company training including new hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service, safety, food safety, and product knowledge.
Regularly required to stand, walk, handle, reach, talk, hear, and taste or smell. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds, reaching from 6-72 inches. Specific vision abilities include close, color, and depth perception.
Work in a cool environment (34-36°F), frequently exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and extreme cold. Noise level is moderate to loud.
