Job summary

Columbus Technical College is seeking a part-time adjunct Mathematics Instructor to prepare lesson plans, evaluate student progress, and provide academic advising. The role requires day and evening on-campus instruction and may involve recruitment and program advisory duties.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Mathematics (or an equivalent with 18 graduate hours in mathematics). Preferred candidates have postsecondary teaching experience and LMS familiarity.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university in mathematics
• Or a Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a concentration a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours or 27 graduate quarter hours in mathematics

Responsibilities

• Organizes and conducts classes using a variety of learning experiences and activities
• Ensures adherence to technical college safety requirements in classrooms by following established procedures
• Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives
• Follows state standards in developing course outlines, goals, and objectives
• Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports in a timely manner
• Demonstrates current and comprehensive knowledge of the subject areas to be taught
• Communicates students’ progress to students and appropriate personnel
• Maintains knowledge of current trends in the field by attending staff development trainings and reading professional literature
