Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks a Master Teacher/Literacy for a part-time (20 hours) end-of-year position at Albemarle Road Middle. The role supports literacy instruction, data-driven planning, and professional development under the supervision of the building administrator.

The candidate will collaborate with teachers to implement effective strategies, integrate technology, and align with content standards for grades K-12 as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and valid NC Teaching license in the content area.
• Master's degree in Education is preferred but not required.
• Experience delivering literacy instruction and coaching is expected.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all laws, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with administration and teacher of record to provide targeted instructional strategies including technology integration.
• Demonstrate instructional expertise and coaching skills.
• Support professional learning communities to meet student needs.
• Lead and evaluate building-level professional development aligned to goals.
• Improve teaching with clear expectations and actionable feedback.
• Conduct follow-up conferences with teachers for improvement.
• Oversee planning and follow-up of school-based professional development.
• Assist teachers in applying new professional learning.
• Analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends and set goals.
• Support accelerated student achievement and MTSS-based instruction.
• Regularly assess student learning and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate to align standards, curricula, and assessments.
• Team-teach and model effective instructional strategies.
