International Special Risks (ISR), with offices from Maine to Florida, is the largest Marine insurance broker on the East Coast. We provide professional expertise and extensive market access to retail agents and brokers. We specialize in marine insurance, placing both full and participating lines in the US market for major marine accounts. We are not surplus lines brokers.

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Marine Insurance Assistant to support our Maine office. This part-time role involves approximately 15-20 hours per week and is fully remote.

Key Responsibilities

1. Processing renewals
2. Submitting Lobster Boat Program MGA applications
3. Requesting surveys
4. Processing survey recommendation letters
5. Handling notices of cancellation and payment verifications
6. Processing endorsements
7. Responding to billing inquiries from retail agents via email

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Familiarity with policy endorsements and amendments
• Knowledge of specialized insurance sectors (marine, property, casualty)
• Marine industry experience preferred but not mandatory
• Proficiency with insurance software (e.g., AMS360) and Microsoft Office
• Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements
• Data analysis skills
