Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center in Georgia is seeking a part-time Mammography Technologist to join a collaborative imaging team. You will perform mammography exams, ensure image quality, and support patient comfort through efficient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist and 1 year of mammography experience in a hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and protocol, confirming patient identity with two unique identifiers.
• Gather relevant history, screen for contraindications, and explain the exam clearly to reduce anxiety (AIDET).
• Protect patient privacy, dignity, and comfort while positioning patients safely and assisting with transfers as needed.
• Review images for quality and completeness, maintaining a strong first-time acceptance rate before releasing patients.
• Operate mammography equipment safely, optimize dose and technique, and keep equipment clean per infection control guidelines.
• Perform and document required QC tests (ACR/MQSA) including Phantom, Visual Checklist, and Compression tests.
• Ensure all images are labeled, oriented, and documented in PACS/RIS; complete daily charge capture.
