Job summary

Allegria Village in Dearborn, MI is looking for a dependable Part-Time Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team. The role supports preventative and routine upkeep across Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing areas, ensuring safe, clean, and comfortable environments for residents and staff.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work independently while coordinating with nursing and other departments.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, facilities, or related areas.
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and building maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic maintenance issues.
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing areas.
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner.
• Perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs.
• Inspect equipment, fixtures, doors, windows, lighting, and other building components.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and routine safety inspections.
• Help maintain resident rooms, common areas, offices, and other facility spaces.
• Assist with maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Identify maintenance or safety concerns and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with emergency maintenance situations as needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in an organized and safe manner.
• Assist with seasonal maintenance and other facility projects as assigned.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Work respectfully and professionally around residents, families, visitors, and staff.
• Maintain appropriate communication with nursing and other departments regarding maintenance concerns that may affect residents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
