Description

Hampden-Sydney College is currently seeking hardworking and reliable part-time maintenance helpers. Reporting to the Building Maintenance Supervisor, assist skilled tradespeople with college facility maintenance activities, construction and renovation projects including general carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and HVAC. Positions available July 1, 2025.

Responsibilities:

• Assist carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and other tradespeople with daily tasks
• Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision
• Follow safety protocols and site instructions
• Perform general site maintenance and manual tasks as required

Qualifications

Qualifications: Previous labor or construction experience preferred, but not required. Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding work. Must be at least 18 years of age, and hold a valid Virginia driver’s license. Hours are 7:00am - 4:00pm, Monday – Friday, weekends as needed.
