Part Time Maintenance / Custodian Worker - Manhattan Day Hab

If you take pride in cleanliness, organization and safety then you may be a fit for QSAC’s Maintenance team! The Office Maintenance/Custodian is responsible for upholding the safety and appearance of the physical office space.

The salary for this position is $18.00 an hour.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Building Maintenance

  • Adhere to building/maintenance/codes to ensure health, safety & welfare of facilities, individual and employees
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout facilities, completing assigned checklists that include daily, weekly, and monthly detail
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and use responsibly
  • Demonstrate safety and care of equipment and suppliesto protect from damage and theft
  • Driving to multiple QSAC locations is required
  • Complete projects including moving furniture, deliveries, painting, plastering, etc. in an efficient and timely manner
  • Responsibilities include, but limited to, cleaning bathrooms/kitchen, mopping, sweeping, and/or vacuuming floors, Hygienic cleaning, and garbage collection and removal.
  • Utilize troubleshooting skills to determine best way to fix problems and communicate delays or emergency reassignments to supervisor
  • Respond promptly to program needs throughout facility
  • Identify problems in the facility and inform supervisor as soon as they are discovered
  • Work independently in the building, staying focused on assigned tasks and priorities
  • Prioritize work to complete time sensitive issues first
  • Report to work for snow removal as needed

This position may require driving to other QSAC locations.

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • High school diploma/GED, preferred
  • Must have 1-2 years’ general maintenance and facility cleaning skills
  • Must have valid Driver's License and excellent driving history
  • Required travel to multiple QSAC locations
  • Requires the ability to read, write and communicate & speak effectively with others [English is required]
  • Attendance and punctuality is essential
  • Commitment to company values and adherence to policies
