Job summary

Discovery Village at Alliance Town Center – IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance and housekeeping duties across the community. You will handle repairs on grounds, buildings, and units, including basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks, and ensure rooms are prepared for new residents.

• One year maintenance experience.
• Ability to be on call if needed.
• General understanding of plumbing, electrical, mechanical and code compliance.
• Knowledge of OSHA, fire prevention and life-safety regulations.
• Ability to respond to emergency calls outside scheduled hours.

• Written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrates good judgment and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and housekeeping duties in and around the community grounds as assigned.
• Complete service requests for repair and maintenance of grounds, buildings, apartments, equipment and vehicles.
• Fix wall and/or floor coverings; repair furniture and fixtures; basic plumbing; minor electrical work; appliance repair; painting and refurbishing projects; manage HVAC, refrigeration, carpet and hard surface maintenance, and make-ready rooms.

Our community is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

• Performing maintenance and housekeeping duties in and around the community grounds as assigned.
• Performs routine maintenance duties to complete all service requests for repair and maintenance of all grounds, buildings, apartment homes, equipment and vehicles in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
• Routine maintenance duties may include: fixing wall and/or floor coverings; repairing furniture and fixtures; performing basic plumbing work; performing minor electrical repairs; repairing appliances; painting and refurbishing projects, working with heating and air systems, refrigeration systems, carpet and hard surface maintenance and “make ready” rooms as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Has a general understanding of systems including: plumbing, electrical, mechanical and code compliance.
• Possess a general understanding of OSHA, fire prevention, life and safety regulations.
