Job summary

Health Care Resource Center in Massachusetts is seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Licensed Practical Nurse to dispense prescribed medications as part of a treatment team in partnership with physicians and nursing supervisors.

The dispensing nurse will maintain dispensing equipment, manage medication inventory, report patient treatment information, ensure secure storage of controlled substances, and assist with orienting new staff.

Qualifications

Licensed Practical Nurse in Massachusetts (LPN) required.
Current CPR certification required.
Experience with EMR and basic computer tasks preferred.
Experience in chemical dependency treatment is a plus.
Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Administer daily medication to patients per program policy and medical protocols.
Use automated dispensing systems and calibrate equipment.
Maintain records and reports per company protocol and regulations.
Ensure security standards for controlled substances storage and distribution as per CFR.
Order, receive, and stock medication per DEA/state regulations.
Provide daily patient assessments.
Assist Nursing Supervisor in orienting new staff.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
