Job summary

MediLodge of Sterling Heights is seeking a part‑time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in Michigan. You will coordinate and provide nursing care for residents and supervise clinical staff to ensure high‑quality patient care.

Responsibilities include administering medications, implementing physician orders, and supervising CNAs, while maintaining compliance with state regulations. The role offers flexible scheduling and opportunities with a large Michigan network.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN school of nursing.
• Valid LPN/LVN license in the state of employment.
• Valid CPR certification.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.

• Documents the resident’s condition and nursing needs.
• Implements physicians’ orders accurately and promptly.
• Assigns nursing care to team members based on needs and competencies.
• Supervises, directs, and evaluates junior staff and CNAs.
• Administers medications and treatments and documents as required by policy and regulations.
• Participates in orientation and in‑service training for personnel.
• Ensures supplies are used economically and equipment is maintained safely.
• Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinates nursing care when residents are scheduled for therapy or procedures.
• Interviews applicants and participates in hiring decisions as permitted by state act.
• Supervises the nursing unit, including scheduling and directing staff.
• Maintains inventory and coordinates housekeeping/dietary needs when required.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

• Accurately and promptly implements physicians’ orders.
• Assigns nursing care to team members in accordance with residents’ needs and the person’s capabilities and qualifications.
• Supervises, directs, and evaluates junior staff members and CNAs.
• Administers medications and performs treatments for assigned residents, documenting treatments as required by company and local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
• Participates in orientation and in‑service training for personnel.
• Ensures that supplies are utilized economically and equipment is clean and maintained safely.
• Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinates nursing care when residents are scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
• Interviews applicants and recommends hires; participates in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination of staff to the extent permitted by the state practice act.
• Supervises the nursing unit, which includes scheduling and directing the nursing staff to the extent permitted by the state practice act.
• Ensures that inventory and supplies are maintained on the unit and communicates the need for housekeeping, maintenance, or dietary assistance.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
