Job description

Part-time Lower School General Music/Choral Teacher

We are seeking a music teacher who brings joy, creativity, and energy to their work with young learners and who has the experience and passion to build and implement a dynamic, developmentally appropriate music curriculum. The ideal candidate will be:

  • Understand how to incorporate instruments such as ukuleles, recorders, rhythm sticks, and Orff instruments into hands-on, active music-making
  • Foster a deep love of music through singing, movement, listening, improvisation, and creative exploration
  • Have experience leading an elementary vocal ensemble
  • Plan, rehearse, and direct students in at least two school performances annually
  • Attend music-related field trips
  • Be confident, flexible, and ready to join a collaborative school environment
  • Open to working with a diverse range of learners and musical experiences, and ideally has experience with diverse learning styles
  • Have piano accompaniment skills, but not required
