Job summary

Nexstar Media Group Inc. in Los Angeles is seeking a Part-time Production Lighting Board & Teleprompter Operator for the Grip/Production department.

You will program, operate, and maintain studio lighting, run the ETC ION console, and manage teleprompter operations in a fast-paced newsroom environment. Candidates should have 5–7 years of lighting experience in a major market, strong leadership and communication skills, and familiarity with ENPS.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years lighting experience in a major market.
• Demonstrate leadership and proven track record in lighting and teleprompter operation.
• Must have good organization and communication skills.
• Experience familiar with newsroom operations and production processes.
• Well versed in operation of a wide variety of lighting instruments and PC-based lighting control consoles, especially ETC ION.
• Knowledge of ENPS is a plus.
• Must be a member of IATSE or willing to join.
• Willing to work mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Program, operate, maintain, and execute studio lighting production.
• Operate lighting control console and program lighting.
• Oversee installation, hang, focus and circuits of lighting equipment; repair and adjust fixtures.
• Handle teleprompter systems and news production operating systems.
• Perform cue checks before and after shows and adjust as needed.
• Maintain safe workspace and coordinate lighting maintenance and repairs.
• Assist as needed in props/grip functions on live broadcasts; support Stage Management with accurate stage marks.
