Chip Chick Media is looking to hire a part-time women's lifestyle writer who is comfortable writing listicles across a wide range of categories (please have your portfolio reflect this). Categories include books, movies, TV shows, food, gardening, pets, home, relationship advice, and other lifestyle content.

You MUST be based in New York. Please send your portfolio/writing samples and create a 3-4 sentence pitch about a story you are passionate about that you think would fit alongside Chip Chick's content offerings. Please also tell us a little about yourself and why you are interested in writing for Chip Chick.

About you: you are passionate about content in the lifestyle space and have a fervent interest in culture and social media. You're a strong writer who is passionate about creating engaging and relatable content. You anticipate social trends and are keen to talk about them.

You have excellent attention to detail, can meet deadlines, can follow directions, and have strong communication skills. Bonus points if you are experienced with WordPress.

You have the ability to pitch your own ideas that you think would be a great fit for the site.

Qualifications & Responsibilities:

• A degree in creative writing, journalism, or other relevant field
• A fervent interest in lifestyle, culture, and social media
• Well-kept on the latest trends
• Willingness to collaborate and pitch story ideas
• Ability to juggle multiple stories on deadline
• Strong knowledge of AP style
• Expert handle on spelling and grammar
• Proficient in Google Spreadsheets
• Knowledge of WordPress publishing procedures is a plus
• Strong time management and communication skills
• Open-minded and willing to investigate/report on stories outside of your comfort zone
• Self-starter who is able to work independently in a remote setting

Compensation:

$15 - $20 per hour
