Job summary

Idaho State Liquor Division is hiring part-time, non-benefitted clerks to provide excellent customer service in our state liquor stores. The role includes stocking, selling liquor, handling payments, and maintaining store operations, with schedules based on business needs across Sunday–Saturday.

Positions are limited to 1,385 hours per year and require verifying age, operating the register, and ensuring accuracy of cash and inventory. Average pay is around $15.45 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be 19 years of age to sell liquor per Idaho Code.
• Experience handling cash and making change with basic math.
• Reading instructions written in English.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and answer questions about products, content, prices.
• Check IDs and deny service to underage or intoxicated customers.
• Process payments by cash, check or credit card and make change.
• Receive licensed-bar orders and operate the cash register system.
• Balance cash receipts with sales journal and close out the register.
• Stock, code merchandise, and arrange displays; assist with merchandising.
• Open/close store, maintain security, and generate daily reports.
