Job summary

Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania - Sewickley Campus is seeking a Lifeguard to support a comprehensive fitness program for residents. This part-time role requires opening/closing the facility, supervising pool use, and providing first aid and emergency response as needed.

Responsibilities include implementing fitness programming, assisting with communications and clerical tasks, and ensuring safety and infection control in the Wellness Center.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent; experience with fitness/exercise preferred.
• One-year experience with seniors is desirable.
• Maintains CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Strives to acquire ACSM, NESTA, NSCA certifications.
• Lifeguard certification required.
• Good written, verbal, organizational, and basic computer skills.
• Certified Pool Operator certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implement fitness programming as directed by Wellness Coordinator/Manager.
• Participate in staff meetings.
• Open/close the facility; notify Wellness Manager of weather closures.
• Operate pool and report equipment damage promptly.
• Know emergency facility procedures.
• Maintain presence in the Fitness/Wellness Center and monitor pool access for members.
• Assist with flyers, announcements, and health information for residents and employees.
• Maintain cleanliness, infection control, and safety in the facility.
• Provide clerical support and data entry from member applications and assessments.
• Stay current on fitness/wellness information for residents.
• Maintain pool area order and daily activity logs; monitor pool chemistry.
• Rescue swimmers, provide first aid, and seek help when needed.
