Job summary

The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to ensure a safe, welcoming aquatic environment. Under supervision, you will respond to emergencies, perform rescues, and enforce pool policies while maintaining records and safety checks.

Required certifications include ARC Lifeguard with Oxygen, CPR/AED, First Aid. This role supports the aquatics team with training and ongoing safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification including Oxygen.
• Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications.
• Lifeguard duties require ability to perform rescues and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, welcoming environment for members around aquatic facilities.
• Respond to emergencies and administer CPR/AED, First Aid and Oxygen as certified.
• Enforce pool rules, monitor chemical balance, and log safety checks.
• Maintain cleanliness and secure pool area; assist with swim lessons if needed.
• Attend trainings and participate in guard drills; report incidents promptly.
