Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Lifeguard for URBN Playground in Brooklyn, NY to oversee pool safety and aquatics operations. The role requires alertness, focus, and a positive attitude so guests feel at ease around the pool.

Shift hours vary as pools are open seven days a week; revenuers greet bathers, monitor water readings, enforce rules, and maintain logs. NYC CPR annually is required; prior lifeguard and pool maintenance experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active CPR / First Aid / AED certification is required.
• CPR annual requirement may apply for NYC.
• Ability to greet and assist pool guests.
• Maintain water quality and pool logs.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers who come to use the pool (and related amenities)
• Take water readings and adjust chemicals in the pool as needed
• Supervise the pool and pool area at all times while on shift
• Enforce pool rules and policies
• Keep detailed daily logs of water readings and number of bathers
• Close the pool and take remedial action in the event of hazards
• Organize logs for monthly submission
• Maintain cleanliness of pool area (brush water line, wipe railings, towels, squeegee, mop)
