Job summary

DeKalb Park District in DeKalb, IL is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to monitor swimming areas and prevent accidents. You will assist swimmers, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities include rescues, first aid, incident reporting, and maintaining safety standards. Must be 16 or older and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. CPR/AED certification is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform life-saving techniques including in-pool rescues, CPR, AED administration and first aid under stressful conditions.
• Well organized and able to work independently or with others.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe activities and enforces facility rules.
• Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aid.
• Continuously scans assigned areas and responds to emergencies.
• Completes incident/accident reports as required.
• Maintains knowledge of park district aquatic safety rules.
• Cleans the pool deck area and locker rooms.
