Job summary

Bellefaire JCB in Shaker Heights, OH, is seeking a Jewish Day School Clinical Counselor for 8-20 hours per week, either part-time or PRN. The role provides therapeutic intervention, crisis support, and collaboration with school staff to support students’ emotional and social growth in a day school setting.

Requirements include a Master’s in Social Work or related field, and a valid Ohio LSW or LPC license (LISW/LPCC preferred).

Qualifications

• Understanding of Jewish religion, customs and traditions required.
• Minimum Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field.
• Valid Ohio LSW, LPC required; Independent license (LISW, LPCC) preferred.
• Knowledge of diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, developmental psychopathology, systems and methods in family therapy, group therapy, child psychotherapy, and behavioral therapy.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional clinical services including biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans and reviews, individual and group counseling, family therapy, prevention, consultation, and aftercare planning.
• Consult with school staff regarding treatment planning, progress, and ongoing needs.
• Provide mental health-related training to teachers and other school personnel.
• Contact and meet with parents of referred children for intake, including home visits as needed.
• Provide back up to other program staff as needed.
