Responsibilities

• Perform professional therapeutic massage treatments based on patient needs and clinical appropriateness.
• Conduct a brief intake and identify the patient's primary concerns, treatment goals, areas of discomfort, and relevant contraindications.
• Provide individualized massage techniques: Swedish, Wood, Lymphatic Drainage, Deep-tissue, Therapeutic, Myofascial, Trigger-point, Sports/recovery, Stretching and mobility.
• Maintain accurate treatment documentation according to clinic policy.
• Communicate relevant observations to the medical provider when appropriate.
• Educate patients on post-treatment care, hydration, stretching, and general wellness.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, organized, and professional treatment room.
• Follow infection-control, privacy, safety, and clinic policies.
• Maintain professional boundaries and a patient-centered approach.
• Provide excellent customer service and help establish long-term patient relationships.
• Maintain all required credentials and continuing education.

Position Overview

We are seeking a professional, compassionate, and experienced New York State Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) to join our outpatient medical clinic in Jamaica, Queens.

The Massage Therapist will provide therapeutic massage and bodywork services to patients seeking relief from muscle tension, chronic pain, stress, limited mobility, and other appropriate musculoskeletal concerns. The therapist will work in a professional medical-clinic environment and collaborate with the clinical team when appropriate.

This position is ideal for an LMT who enjoys working directly with patients and wants to provide therapeutic massage in a healthcare setting rather than a traditional spa environment.

Qualifications

Required

• Current New York State Massage Therapy License (LMT) in good standing.

Preferred

• 1-2+ years of professional massage therapy experience.
• Experience in a medical office, physical therapy, chiropractic, rehabilitation, sports medicine, or wellness setting.
• Training in deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger-point therapy, sports massage, or lymphatic techniques.
• Experience working with patients experiencing chronic neck, back, shoulder, hip, musculoskeletal pain, or post cosmetic surgery.
• Bilingual communication skills are a plus.

Schedule

The position will initially be part-time, with approximately 10-20 hours per week.

Preferred availability may include:

• Weekday afternoons/evenings
• Saturday availability
• Flexible scheduling based on patient demand

The schedule may expand as the massage program grows.
