Job summary

Pratt Library in Sand Springs, OK is seeking a friendly Shelver to help keep our collections organized and accessible. You will sort and return materials to proper places and assist customers with finding items, ensuring shelves remain neat and inviting.

This part-time role (16 hours/week) includes Tuesday, Thursday evenings and Saturday shifts. Prior experience is not required, but good communication and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and perform alphabetic and numeric sorting.
• Basic computer skills, including ability to learn library’s automated system.
• Ability to help customers with their basic computer needs, including e-mail, answering Microsoft product questions, and navigating the Internet.
• Ability to provide directions.

Responsibilities

• Sorts and places books and other library materials in proper locations; maintains neat, tidy and orderly conditions.
• Helps connect customers to the appropriate zone or service.
• Assists with self-service circulation as required.
• Assists with attractively displaying materials.
• Flexible and adaptable throughout the workday to provide superior customer experiences.
