Job summary

Wharton Independent School District seeks an Instructional Aide III, Library (Part time) to support certified staff in a library setting at Wharton Junior High. The role involves aiding students with reading and math, supervising study areas, and assisting in IEP-related tasks.

Under supervision, you will help with materials, record-keeping, and field trips while contributing to a positive learning environment in a library context.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• College coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
• Prior experience working with special needs children desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist in administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Assist in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
• Assist with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
• Assist with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and keep students on task.
