Job summary

The Bismarck Library Foundation, Inc. (BLF) seeks a part-time on-site Development Coordinator to grow the BLF donor base and increase financial support for operating, endowment, and library special projects.

Reporting to the Library Director with BLF Board oversight, the role involves grant research/writing, monthly reporting, budget planning, and coordinating with committees and events to advance BLF’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Minimum of three years of progressive fundraising or public relations experience.
• Five or more years of experience working for a non-profit foundation is preferred.
• Understand the principles and practices of foundation work.
• Strong organizational ability to develop and maintain accurate ongoing records.

Responsibilities

• Develops and grows the BLF donor base to support operating, endowment, and special projects.
• Communicates with donors using verbal, written, and visual methods to build rapport and trust.
• Plans, organizes, and prioritizes tasks to meet goals and deadlines.
• Drafts grant proposals and coordinates with library administration and board for fundraising initiatives.
• Manages BLF office operations and collaborates with the Administrative Officer.
• Produces newsletters, brochures, and donor communications; coordinates media releases.
