Job summary

Bergen Community College in Paramus, NJ is seeking a Part-Time Library Assistant to support Library Media Services and provide back-up at the Library Service Desks for Paramus and Meadowlands locations.

The role requires an Associate's degree or equivalent and at least one year in public services with an integrated library system. Must lift up to 30 pounds and may work weekends. Earned Sick Leave is provided. Hourly rate is $17/hour.

The Library Assistant - Media will be responsible for assisting in all basic operations of the Library Media Services at the Pitkin Education Building of the Paramus campus, and will be trained to provide back-up service at the Library Service Desks for both Paramus and Meadowlands locations.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate's degree or equivalent required.

Experience: One year in public services and using a multifaceted integrated library system or equivalent.

Other:May work some weekends and at different locations.

Physical requirements: Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and to move throughout the library, or within the building to assist faculty and students.
