Job summary

Union County College in New Jersey is seeking a Part-time Librarian to provide research and reference assistance, and to support information literacy for students, faculty, and staff across all campuses.

The MLS is required; academic library experience is preferred. The position is non-exempt, up to 25 hours weekly, with travel between campus libraries as needed. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, vacation, and tuition remission.

Qualifications

• The MLS is required and academic library experience is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong reference experience and library instruction/teaching ability.
• Knowledge of electronic outreach for libraries.

Responsibilities

• Provides research and reference assistance to students, faculty, and staff.
• Assists with locating and retrieving information through library databases and resources.
• Develops information literacy within the community through guidance on online resources.
• Collaborates with librarians and faculty to provide library instruction.
• Mantains statistics of library services rendered while on duty.
• Assists with special projects and programs as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Libraries.
