About the Opportunity

The College of Social Sciences and Humanities and its nine tenure units are the home of the Experiential Liberal Arts. Through its research, teaching, and engagement missions, the college collaborates across the university, the Northeastern network, and partners around the globe.

Responsibilities
  • The Department of Sociology and Anthropology seeks applicants to teach undergraduate courses in one or more of the following fields: Introduction to Sociology; Introduction to Cultural Anthropology; Drugs and Society; Sociology of Mental Health; Gender; Poverty; Urban Sociology; Race and Ethnicity; Social Movements; Sociology of the Family; Disability; Work and Organizations; Anthropology of Latin America; Anthropology of Native North America; and other undergraduate courses.
  • Teach on campus in Boston or online asynchronously.
  • Deliver lectures, develop assignments, grade assignments, and hold appropriate office hours.
  • Position availability is contingent upon enrollment and departmental need and may occur throughout the year.
Qualifications
  • MA required; Ph.D. or ABD preferred.
  • Preference given to candidates experienced in teaching large and diverse groups of students.
