Cal Poly Solano seeks a pool of part-time lecturers to teach mathematics courses at the Vallejo campus. Positions are contingent on enrollment and available as needed for Fall and Spring terms of the 2026-27 academic year.

Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience, and time base. Courses include Transition to College Algebra, Trigonometry/Precalculus, College Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus I–III, Linear Algebra, and Statistics.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mathematics or closely related discipline is required.
  • Doctoral degree in Mathematics or closely related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience teaching mathematics at the collegiate level is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach lower division mathematics courses such as Transition to College Algebra, Stretch College Algebra, Stretch Precalculus, College Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus I, II, and III, Linear Analysis, and Statistics.

MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT, PART-TIME LECTURER POOL, SOLANO CAMPUS

The Mathematics Department at Cal Poly is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers to teach courses at the Cal Poly Solano campus, located in Vallejo, CA. Positions available as determined by need during the Fall and/or Spring semester of the 2026-27 academic year. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience, and time base. Responsibilities usually include teaching lower division mathematics courses such as Transition to College Algebra, Stretch College Algebra, Stretch Precalculus, College Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus I, III, and III, Linear Analysis, and Statistics.

SALARY INFORMATION
Education

Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are:

Lecturer A: $5,507-$6,677

Lecturer B: $6,221-$13,224

Lecturer C: $6,825-$14,523

Lecturer D: $8,593-$15,211

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mathematics or closely related discipline, such as Physical Science or Engineering is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline, such as Physical Science or Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience teaching mathematics at the collegiate level, especially Calculus and/or Differential Equations.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly.
