The Biological Sciences Department in the Bailey College of Science and Mathematics at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo is accepting applications for a pool of part‑time lecturers from our local geographic area. Positions are available as determined by need during the Fall and/or Spring semester of the 2026‑27 academic year. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, teaching experience, and time base. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Biological Sciences Department.
Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.

The Biological Sciences Department offers programs leading to Bachelor of Science degrees in Biological Sciences, Marine Sciences, and Microbiology; minors in Biology, Microbiology, and Biotechnology; and a Master of Science degree. The department also offers courses to satisfy general education and breadth requirements.
