Spelman College in Atlanta invites applications for a part-time Lecturer of Human Anatomy and Physiology to begin in August 2026 (Fall). The lecturer will teach introductory anatomy and physiology, covering structure and function of the human body, cells, tissues, and the integumentary, skeletal, muscular and nervous systems.

The successful candidate will provide a supportive learning environment, assess student progress with timely feedback, develop syllabi and teaching plans, and collaborate

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Human Anatomy and Physiology, Exercise Science/Kinesiology, Medical Health or Biological Science or closely related discipline
• Ph.D., MD, DO, DPT, or other terminal degree in related field is preferred
• Higher Education teaching experience preferred
• Laboratory discretion and human mannequin simulation training preferred

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in anatomy and physiology introductory lecture level course, including examining structure and function of the human body, cells, tissues and the integumentary, skeletal, muscular and nervous systems
• Provide a supportive learning environment and facilitate student learning
• Adhere to course curricular, methods, practices and lesson plans as developed by the Environmental & Health Sciences Department
• Conduct regular student assessments and provide timely graded feedback including homework, quizzes and examinations
• Prepare course syllabi and reports related to teaching and student progress
• Work collaboratively with the instructor of lab section to ensure the pace of the course

Education

Master’s Degree in Human Anatomy and Physiology, Exercise Science/Kinesiology, Medical Health or Biological Science or closely related discipline
