Job summary

Leading Edge Before & After School Programs is hiring two Lead Teachers to join our teams at Giberson Elementary and Stratton Meadows Elementary in Colorado Springs School District 2. This part-time, school-year position offers meaningful work with a program that values its people and provides growth opportunities.

The Lead Teacher will supervise, engage students, lead enrichment activities, build relationships, support homework, and collaborate with the Site Director and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with school-age children in education, licensed child care, recreation, camps, youth programs, or similar settings preferred.
• Must meet Colorado State Child Care Licensing qualifications for a Lead Teacher.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation.
• Comfortable using technology and web-based systems.
• Ability to create a safe, positive, and engaging environment for students.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and actively engage with school-age students.
• Lead games, crafts, STEM projects, physical activities, and other enrichment experiences.
• Build positive relationships with students and help create a strong sense of belonging.
• Encourage teamwork, confidence, creativity, and positive behavior.
• Assist students with homework and academic support as needed.
• Work closely with Site Director and fellow team members.
• Communicate positively with families and school staff.
• Support attendance, daily documentation, program setup and organization.
• Follow Colorado child care licensing requirements and Leading Edge policies.
